Well, as we promised here are the details of our 1st weekend of workshops for June 2009.
I must point out that this year all our workshops will be focused over the winter months of June & August, so get in while you can!
Please note that we are now using a new email address for you to contact Catalyst. catalystworkshops@gmail.com. Please use this new address for a copy of the booking form and indicate in your email which workshop you'd like to attend. The form will be emailed by return and booking secured on full payment.

Softies, as they have become known are wonderful soft toys that are designed for either a child, or the child within! Art toys are highly collected throughout Europe and have been making a mark on the world wide textile scene. Many books have been published in the past year, dedicated to softies and their designers.
Come along and join us, in a day of inspiration and creative exploration. Design and create your own individual softie, which you or a small person will cherish. Learn the design and construction process, with many helpful tips. A basic sewing machine, a good selection of fabrics and a touch of creativity is all that you need to bring.

Come for a day of natural dyeing with a fanatical dyer. learn about and enjoy the pots of colour that can be created from around you. Colours of the earth from Puff ball fungi, euycalptus gums, iron and rust as well as whatever else can be sourced sustainbly. Expect gorgeous rich earthy tones and quiet soft shades that fit comfortably with any wardrobe or home. Bring silks, wools, some cottons and a bundle of threads, yarns and fibres. I will demonstrate simple resist techniques, show you how to prepare and mordant your work for dyeing and run dye pots all day for you to experiment with.
